ell summer has finally arrived (thank you Jesus).  And here at Calvary Apostolic Church we have hit the season running. Last Sunday we had our annual Crusade in the Park (please take the time and look at the Photo section and see some of the great pictures). What an awesome time we had and the responses were wonderful, the free hot dogs, the chips, the drink, the games the prize drawings, and the clowns were just great.  Bro. Steve Crocker and his staff did an outstanding job, and thank you, thank you to all of the Church family that came out to help set up and the taking down, your help made the job so much easier.  Well our next outreach event will be the Tent Revival ,(Aug 2nd), across from the Interfaith Shelter here in Jackson. All are welcome to come and share in this great time and outpouring of God's blessing and Spirit upon the City of Jackson. With the price of gas on the 4th of July Weekend we're planning a weekend of events here at the Church, camping, games, bomb fire and of course fire works. In the planning stages are several other events, please watch for our announcements on our web site and Family Life Radio.

Well, so far the young people here at Calvary have performed several skits, gone skating, had their Bowl-A-Thon and are going to Cedar Point ,(June 19th), and we are getting ready for the Back to School Rally, (Sept. 6th), and the summer has just begun.  Calvary Apostolic Church is a Church that is on the move, and we're family centered, I have said this often "if you're Church is boring and has nothing going on perhaps you're in the wrong Church".

The story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15: 11-24 to me is one of the greatest love stories in the Bible, Oh I know there are others but to me this is the best one because to me it typifies the love that God has for us and the backslider.  The story is about a young man who was in the family and decided to see what the world has to offer, he took his inheritance and spent it on everything he was old enough to spend it on and made a mess of his life to where he was even ashamed to be called his fathers son.  But look what happens while he's on his way home, in verse 20 the Bible says,"while he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him".  And then in verse 24 the father says " for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost, and is found And they began to be merry".  Now that's Love, that's the kind of love that only God has and only God can give.  May I say, God is not as concerned as to where you've been, I believe He's more concerned about where you're going. If you're looking for a place to start over, a place to make a fresh start may I invite to to a Church that will love and welcome you.  A Church that will not judge you on where you've been, but a Church that is more interested in where you're going, a Church Where Jesus is Still the Answer.
